We are very excited to announce that Harvest’s co-founder Emma Byrnes has gone out on her own and set up a bespoke creative agency called Heartland.
Having left Harvest in September 2013 to have her third child she is now heading out of the fabulous baby bubble to launch her new visual storytelling project agency.
Be sure to visit Heartland – you won’t be disappointed. It is full of all the rich imagery you would expect from the woman who has documented the Harvest Textiles and Harvest Workroom journey since it’s inception.
Heartland will be Emma’s framework for experimenting with ideas and projects in design, philosophy, creative enterprise and community. She will also offer bespoke creative services to a small stable of creative enterprises – fostering visual storytelling and grassroots branding. Be sure to follow Emma on her instagram, facebook and twitter accounts. And subscribe to her newsletter. OK – now you can go check out her new site!
Rachel Wood is our September artist-in-residence and has moved into her studio to make some of her beautiful Wundebaskets.
Whilst in residence she is hosting Fringed Benefits – a fantastic weaving workshop.
There are still a couple of places in this workshop so book in quick.
The marvellous Wunder Woman – Rachel Wood – will join us in September as our artist-in-residence asnd while she is with us she will host this fantastic workshop where students can spend the day with creating their own fringed wall hangings and trinkets!
Participants will be guided through the workings of the latch hook to create their very own free style arrangements to give that empty wall character and style, to be given as gifts or adorned on the body. Using a combination of latch hooking and long stitching, participants will watch their pieces of art grow before their very eyes.
No prior skills necessary. All materials provided but please feel free to bring along your favourite balls yarn and strips of favourite fabric that you want to turn into art.
